About Racquets at Rest This anthology is a collection of 40
tributes that the author, Rob Dinerman, was given the honor of writing,
all of them to people who passed away during the 21st Century and all
of them to squash players who, one way or another, left a lasting and
definitive mark on the sport in the United States. They are an eclectic
group, a cross-section composed of championship players, iconic coaches
and legendary professionals, but with some eccentric characters and
distinctive personalities mixed in as well. Many of them lived long and
distinguished lives (in one case lasting more than a century), while
others struggled with a variety of challenges and/or had their lives
cut short tragically and prematurely. There is, however, one quality
that all 40 share, namely that of having had a significant and positive
impact on the American squash community.
